We work exclusively on your behalf. Based on your level, goals, and budget, Michaela identifies suitable horses through her direct network in Italy and abroad, pre-screens candidates, and personally evaluates each one before you travel or commit.

3. Pre-Selection

Videos reviewed, information requested, unsuitable options filtered — before your time is spent.

4. Evaluation

Michaela assesses each shortlisted horse — movement, character, rideability, and soundness.

5. Purchase Support

Full assistance with negotiation, vet checks, and logistics until the horse is safely yours.

Fees

A commission of 10% applies upon successful purchase. No upfront costs.

We qualify every potential buyer before introducing them to you — ensuring they are the right fit in terms of level, intentions, and budget.

5. Negotiation & Closing

Michaela assists with negotiation, vet checks, and paperwork until the sale is complete.

We can also host you Horse in our Stable during the entire process.

What We Do

When your horse comes to Equus Primus, Michaela takes over the training personally. Every horse is assessed individually — its background, character, physical condition, and current level — before a tailored training plan is put in place. There is no fixed programme, no shortcuts. The work progresses at the pace the horse dictates. Our daily motto is that the Horse has to work with a happy disposition.

Michaela's approach is rooted in classical dressage principles: correct biomechanics, progressive development, and a deep respect for the horse as an individual. Whether she is working with a young horse discovering balance under saddle for the first time, or a more experienced horse refining collection and advanced movements, the method remains the same — build the foundation right, and everything else follows.

Training sessions are consistent and structured, combining ridden work with ground exercises and lungeing as needed. Each horse is monitored closely — physically and mentally — to ensure progress without compromise.

As the owner, you are always welcome at Equus Primus. You can watch Michaela work, ask questions, and ride your horse yourself. We keep you informed and involved throughout the entire process.

The Environment

We believe that good training starts with good care. At Equus Primus, every horse lives in a private box with access to individual or shared paddocks, ensuring daily turnout and freedom of movement. Our facilities include a 20x40 covered arena, a 20x60 outdoor arena, a round pen and a hot walker — giving Michaela the right environment for every type of work, in every season.

Horses in our care receive 360-degree management: feeding, health monitoring, farriery, veterinary follow-up, and daily attention are all handled with the same level of commitment we bring to the training itself. Your horse is not just trained here — it is looked after completely.

What's Included

Michaela's training is provided as part of your horse's stay at Equus Primus. The owner covers the monthly livery costs where everything is included from daily grooming to Michaela's training.

• Young Horses

Patient, correct foundation work for horses starting their education under saddle.

• Amateur Level

Developing rhythm, balance, and responsiveness for horses competing or preparing to compete.

• Advanced & Grand Prix 

Refinement of collection, piaffe, passage, and all Grand Prix movements with an international eye.

What We Offer

Our selection spans the full spectrum of dressage — from young horses at the beginning of their education to seasoned competition horses performing at advanced and Grand Prix level. Each horse is presented with honest, accurate information on its current level, strengths, and ideal rider profile.

Michaela Ricci personally oversees every sale. With her Grand Prix background and international experience, she assesses not only the horse but the match — ensuring that buyer and horse are genuinely suited to one another. This is not a transaction. It is a placement, handled with expertise and care.

For each horse, we provide full documentation, quality photos and video footage, and direct access to Michaela for any questions. Viewings and trials are arranged personally, with serious buyers only.
